Samsung Galaxy S9 Versus S9+ Price and Specs Comparison, Side by Side Photos
Just wanna show you side by side photos of the freshly announced Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+, which will both be officially launched in the Philippines on March 16, 2018, so we can see how much they are alike or different.
Obviously, Galaxy S9 is smaller of the two as it features a 5.8-inch Infinity Display versus the 6.2-inch screen of the Galaxy S9+. The former has dimensions of 147.6 x 68.7 x 8.4 mm compared to the 157.7 x 73.8 x 8.5 mm measurements of the latter. Galaxy S9 is also lighter at 163 grams versus 189 grams for the Galaxy S9+.
Nonetheless, these two siblings share the same overall design language and build. The footprint is a rectangle with rounded corners while the IP68 Water and Dust Resistant shell is crafted from anodized aluminum and curved Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panels.
Another key difference in terms of appearance is the look of their camera modules. Obviously, Galaxy S9 has a singular optic at the back housed in a squircle panel while Galaxy S9+ has two cameras placed one on top of the other.
Interestingly enough, despite having a smaller display area, Galaxy S9's SuperAMOLED screen has the same WQHD resolution as what's on the Galaxy S9+, which means that the shorter model has a more pixel-dense panel at 568 ppi versus 531.
These also come with the exact same set of ports and buttons including the one for power, volume up and down, Bixby button, USB Type C port for charging, and 3.5mm audio jack.
For geeks and hardcore Samsung fans, here's a meticulous side-by-side specs comparison sheet that I made for the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. I hope you find this useful.
Consumers will also get the same color options for the two flagship models upon launch. What I have here are their Lilac Purple variants, which is very much in line with the 2018 Color of the Year: Ultraviolet.
