Sony Xperia L2 Philippines Price is PHP 14,990, Full Specs, Release Date
The midrange smartphone market is currently dominated by Chinese brands -- but that doesn't mean that tech legends from other countries have altogether given up on the category.
As a Sony fan, I'm happy that the Japanese company continues to churn out Xperia handsets that excite and delight fans in the mid-level echelon.
The all-new Sony Xperia L2, which has just been released in the Philippines with an official suggested retail price of Php 14,990, has pretty modest design and set of technical specifications -- but it does have its own charms.
Its key selling point is the 120-degree wide-angle front-cam, which has been crafted specifically for snapping groufies or beautified group photos with friends and loved ones.
Having a wide-angle lens allows this camera to snap more of what's in front of it without the user having to extend his or her arm so much.
Another notable feature of this model is its quite large 3,300 mAh Li-Ion battery pack that ensures at least two days of uptime with regular use. And you can even get more juice from the device when you activate Sony Xperia's Stamina Mode, that limits background activities further increase the device's battery life.
So if you're a bit tight on budget but you want a handset that you won't have to always charge in the middle of the day to ensure that it will stay on until the evening, you might want to check this one out.
As for other specs, Xperia L2 sports a 5.5-inch HD IPS display panel, a 13 MegaPixel f/2.0 rear cam that should perform well in low light, Dual SIM capability, and 4G LTE support.
Under the hood, this smartphone runs its Xperia-UI-skinned Android 7.0 Nougat operating system with a 1.5 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A53 and Mali-T720MP2 based Mediatek MT6737T processor, has 3GB of RAM, and comes with 32GB of expandable storage.
Is this smartphone the right one for you? Frankly, there are other models in the market that give you better specs for the same price. However, if you've always been a fan of Sony Xperia handsets because of their craftsmanship, build, quality, and overall feel, I would understand if you'd choose the Sony Xperia L2 over its many competitors. After all, I'd be the first to tell you that Sony - with its decades of experience as a tech giant - makes great handsets.
