Xiaomi Redmi 5A Philippines Price is PHP 4,390, Release Date is March 15, 2018
On Tuesday - March 13, 2018, I graced Xiaomi Philippines' warm invitation for the official launch of their new Android smartphones held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel.
The Chinese tech giant unveiled a couple of handsets at the event and this is the more affordable model of the two.
Donning an SRP of just Php 4,390, Xiaomi Redmi 5A will be available exclusively via Lazada Philippines - with free delivery across the country - starting on Thursday, March 15, 2018.
Needless to say, we can't really expect this handset to be a powerhouse in terms of technical specifications or a head-turner when it comes to looks -- but it does have its own charms.
While the design is borderline plain, the phone has distinguishing characteristics like the metallic sheen on the polycarbonate shell, the rows of holes for the speaker at the rear, as well as the two horizontal lines at the back near either poles.
I guess, for consumers who prefer uncomplicated and sleek designs, this look would prove rather attractive and visually pleasing.
Another highlight would be the clarity and brilliance of the 5-inch HD display, which is a real treat from a sub-Php 5,000 Android smartphone by an international company. Photos and videos will definitely look great on this screen.
One thing that I appreciate on this smartphone is its 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is already quite large for a phone of this size. This pack ensures long uptime, which means that this model can stay on for a whole day or more with regular use. If you hate always plugging your device to an electrical outlet at lunchtime or lugging around a bulky powerbank, you'd appreciate this feature for sure.
Other notable technical specifications of this smartphone include its 1.4 GHz Quad Core ARM Cortex A53 and Adreno 308 based Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 2GB of RAM for multitasking, and 16GB of onboard storage that you can conveniently expand using the dedicated microSD card slot. Yep, you won't need to sacrifice Dual SIM capability to get more storage space.
