Nokia X 2018 Philippines Price and Release Date Guesstimate
This post aims to collate all relevant information about the upcoming Nokia X Android Smartphone, which will be HMD Global's hero handset in the midrange category for 2018.
TechPinas will update this entry every time we get fresh, official details from the Finnish company about this much awaited wallet-friendly model.
HMD Global was expected to launch the Nokia X in China on Thursday - April 27, 2018 - but so far, we are only getting photos of the device taken by fans inside stores with no additional details about its price and set of technical specifications.
Based on these images of actual Nokia X units posted on Twitter, however, it is clear that the device has a tall screen with notch - a feature that has proven to be quite polarizing among consumers, a Dual Camera module at the back - possibly for Bokeh Effect - with Dual Tone LED flash, a rear-mounted Fingerprint Scanner, and a shiny back plate that appears to be crafted from polycarbonate.
Prior to its acquisition by Microsoft in 2014, the X-Series was Nokia's music-centric mid-level handset line. Phones in this line usually donned a lower price tag compared to the Finnish Giant's models in the flagship-level N-Series.
Given all that I'm seeing on Nokia X 2018 so far, I believe that this smartphone had been crafted to go head to head with popular mid-level Android devices that are currently flooding the Chinese and the South East Asian markets. That said, I think it's fair to conclude that this model should have an SRP of around PHP 17,000 to PHP 19,000 if and when it lands in our country within Q2 or early Q3 of this year.
That's it for now. Stay tuned for updates about this handset, which should come in rapid succession within the next few days.
