2018 Android Tablets with DTV or Digital TV Functionality
Just when I thought that tablets are already on their way out, I recently started getting a number of questions from my readers that are related to this topic on social media.
To be specific, some TP Friends are asking me if there are new Android slates with DTV function that they can get here in the Philippines.
Well, the quick answer to that is YES. However, the options are quite limited because right now, only one company seems to still be interested in releasing such devices, which is MyPhone.
If it's your first time to hear about it, DTV or Digital Television is the latest generation in TV broadcast, officially superseding Analog, which is often hazy or blurry. Although channels are still very limited currently and not all areas the country are covered, DTV is a lot better than its predecessor because of the clarity of broadcast that it delivers.
Filipinos love watching TV so I totally understand why many want their smartphones and tablets to have DTV functionality. In fact, I have handsets that have this feature too. And I'm sure viewing experience is even better on tablets.
For those who sent me questions about the availability of these products, here are MyPhone's 2018 line-up of DTV-powered Android tablets, from the most affordable to the most pricey.

I'd like to note that I haven't had the chance to play with any of these slates so I don't think I can recommend any of them. Nonetheless, in terms of specs alone, I'm most interested in MyT5 DTV because of its larger and higher resolution display (versus the others), big battery, and updated version of the Android operating system.
All of these tablets are now available at MyPhone Concept Stores and kiosks nationwide. You may also order any of them online via argomall and they'll deliver the unit right to your doorstep.
