Nokia 8110 4G Philippines Price is PHP 3,990, Specs, Actual Unit Photos
Nokia 8110 4G, which is the 2018 version of the legendary Nokia "Banana Phone" or "Matrix Phone", is now officially available for purchase here in the Philippines via HMD Global's authorized retail partners across the country.
If you are a big Nokia fan or if you're simply looking for a durable feature phone with an iconic form factor and an alpha-numeric keyboard, you can grab this model for only Php 3,990!
Aside from letting you make calls and send text messages, the new Nokia 8110 can also work as a Pocket WiFi device as it supports fast 4G LTE mobile connectivity. For me, apart from its tough-build and nostalgic design, this is the most attractive feature of this handset.
The handset comes in two colors: Yellow and Black.
The yellow one was obviously made to look a lot like a banana -- alluding to the moniker of the legacy version of Nokia 8110.
The black one, which I have here, looks more like a "Matrix Phone". In fact, it even comes with a pre-installed wallpaper that sort of reminds me of the movie.
As for specs, Nokia 8110 4G features a 2.4-inch 240 x 320 pixels non-touch colored TFT display, a 2 MegaPixel fixed focus camera at the back with LED flash, Dual SIM Dual Standby capability, a hardware keyboard with tactile keys hidden under a slide-out mechanism, microUSB port, FM Radio, and a large 1,500 mAh removable Li-Ion battery pack that delivers up to 11 hours of talk time.
Under the hood, this polycarbonate-clad basic phone runs its Kai OS with a Dual Core 1.1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8905 Snapdragon 205 processor, has 512MB of RAM, and comes with 4GB of onboard storage that's easily expandable using the microSD card slot.
If you ask me, I think Nokia 8110 4G would make for a good secondary handset to your primary full touchscreen Android smartphone or iPhone -- especially if you're always making calls. Also, if you're often out and about and you are used to working in cafes on your laptop, this phone could be your ideal companion on the road for connecting to the internet.
To learn more about this handset, watch Mr. Shannon Mead - Country Manager of HMD Global Philippines - introduce the Nokia 8110 4G at the Nokia NewSeum Product Launch held on April 13, 2018 at the Axon Event Center, Green Sun Hotel, Makati City.
