Samsung Galaxy S10, 2019 Flagship Smartphone with Foldable Screen?
I usually start my day reading tech news on international blogs and websites -- and today, I stumbled upon a new hearsay about Samsung's 2019 Flagship Android smartphone, which many fans of the brand are now calling either Samsung Galaxy S10 or Samsung Galaxy X.

Based on what I read, it seems that "industry insiders" are starting to hint that the top-of-the-line device will finally have a foldable touchscreen that will allow it to transform into a full-fledged tablet.
Sounds amazing, right?
Well, actually... this rumor has been going around for almost five years now. In fact, since the release of the Galaxy S4, we've consistently been tricked by these "reliable sources" into believing that the next S-Series model will have a screen that folds.
That said, I personally think that there's a big chance that this would finally happen next year.
Why, you ask?
First off, the S-Series is due for a major design update. If you notice, Galaxy S6, S7, S8, and S9 practically had the same design and glass-metal-glass form factor. Sure, the display size had increased year after year -- but the overall look is becoming really tired. And I bet Samsung knows it.
On top of that, while the Korean Giant can be credited for transforming the mobile industry landscape by introducing the "phablet" form factor, the company is now starting to lag in terms of leadership in innovations.
I mean, consider Huawei's AI Technology and Leica Triple Camera system, which can be both found on the best-selling Huawei P20 Pro. Then, there's OPPO's 5X optical zoom technology and Vivo's in-display fingerprint scanner. The point is: Other companies are doing their best to beat Samsung to the curve and they are winning.
Don't get me wrong: I am a big Samsung fan. In fact, Samsung Galaxy Note8 is currently my daily driver. But even I can't deny that the company is now starting to just follow trends instead of blazing its own trail like before.
Back to Galaxy S10's possible folding display: Well, my guess is as good as yours. I am not sure if the rumor will be true this time. But I certainly hope - for Samsung's sake - that it's finally for real. Heck it's high time for them to make it a reality to reinforce their superiority and to remind their fans what they are made of as a company.
