Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Philippines Price is PHP 11,990 for 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM Version
I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting the official launch of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro here in the Philippines. And I totally understand why.
The handset is not only beautiful but it is also powerful not just in terms of internal hardware but also when it comes to imaging and battery life. Talk about a well-rounded 2018 smartphone, right?
Well, today - May 11, 2018, I bring amazing news! That model has just been formally introduced by Mi Philippines through a media event held at the New World Hotel in Makati City -- albeit by a different name: Xiaomi Redmi Note 5!
Yup, in our market - as in other key markets around the world aside from India, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro will be known simply as Xiaomi Redmi Note 5. And what's great is that the version we're getting already has updated software and AI-powered cameras!

Now, here's the best part: Xiaomi Redmi Note 5's official suggested retail price in the Philippines is only PHP 11,990, which is easily less than PHP 5,000 compared to the SRP of other handsets having similar technical specifications and key features! Believe it!
Speaking of specs:
On the outside, this handset features a large 5.99-inch FullHD+ 1080 x 2160 pixels IPS screen - with no notch - that gives maximum viewing area while keeping the device's footprint manageable.
It also comes replete with with Dual Rear Camera module made up of a 12 MegaPixel f/2.2 PDAF shooter plus a 5 MegaPixel f/2.0 secondary optic that work together to deliver that beautiful bokeh effect in portrait shots. This imaging set-up also incorporates Dual Pixel AutoFocus and Electronic Image Stabilization.
For those who love to take selfies, Redmi Note 5 has a 13 MegaPixel front cam powered by the company's own beautification software.
All of Xiaomi Redmi Note 5's cameras are now powered by the company's AI technology that automatically figures out what's in front of the lens and tweaks the settings come up with the best possible look for the resulting image.
I would like to give credit to Abo Omar and Yehia Radwan on Youtube for all images of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 that I used in this post. To my readers, please follow their channels. Thanks!
Under the hood, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 runs its MIUI-skinned Android 8.1 Oreo OS with a beastly Octa-Core 1.8 GHz Kryo 260 and Adreno 509 based Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 processor, has 4GB of RAM for smooth multitasking, and comes with 64GB of storage that's easily expandable using the secondary nanoSIM slot that can also take in a microSD card.
Of course, one of the best selling points of this Dual SIM, 4G-enabled model is its massive non-removable 4,000 mAh Li-Po pack that ensures long uptime, giving you peace of mind while you're on the road away from a powerbank or an electrical outlet.
In terms of design and build, the handset flaunts a svelte shell crafted from aluminum allow that's available in a number of colors, namely, Black, Champagne Gold, Lake Blue, and Rose Gold. The distinguishing physical characteristic of this release is its oblong Dual Rear Camera module at the back that's quite reminiscent of what's on the Apple iPhone X.
For users who are big on security and privacy, Redmi Note 5 has a Fingerprint Scanner at the back and Facial Recognition.
Considering all of its main highlights and key selling points, I have a feeling that Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will end up becoming one of the best-selling Android smartphones in the Philippines this year. I mean, it just gives great value for money. Thumbs up, MI Philippines and congratulations in advance!
