Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Pro with Snapdragon 710 CPU, 6GB RAM, 128GB ROM, Coming Soon?
I've been hearing word from insiders that Chinese tech company Xiaomi is just about ready to unveil new midrange Android smartphones that will surely delight power users who are not yet ready to shell out too much money on a flagship-level handset but still demand great technical specifications on their daily driver.
On July 19, 2018, Xiaomi is expected to formally introduce the all-new Mi Max 3 via an exclusive media event in China. This stellar new model is the latest iteration in the company's line of mid-level phones with large screen, decent internal hardware, and very large battery pack.
Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is said to sport a sizable 6.9-inch FullHD+ IPS display with tall 18:9 aspect ratio and rounded corners, a 12MP f/2.0 PDAF + 20MP Dual Rear Camera module, 8 MegaPixel f/2.0 Selfie Cam in front with AI Software, 4K 30fps video recorder, Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a massive 5,400 mAh Li-Ion battery pack. The projected SRP for the base model is around PHP 15,000 with current conversion.
Given its rumored specs, the Mi Max 3 already appears to be a strong mid-level release -- but here's the amazing thing: Many Mi fans are saying that the company will also announce an even more powerful version of this model with a slightly higher price tag.
The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Pro, they say, will have the exact same external technical specifications as the regular model but will have an even better set of innards, headlined by the more energy-efficient 10nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, 6GB of RAM, and a whopping 128GB of internal storage that can even be augmented using the secondary hybrid nanoSIM slot that can also take in a microSD card. Off hand, there's no word yet on this model's SRP but I'm guessing that it should go for around PHP 16,000 to PHP 17,000 if and when it lands here.
I'm particularly interested in how the Mi Max 3 Pro will perform with every day use. I think its very large screen, stellar set of internal innards, and ultra-high-capacity battery pack will make it a mobile gaming and entertainment beast. I can't wait to play with this model and see if it's as good as it appears on paper.
As for looks and build, both Mi Max 3 Regular and Pro versions are believed to have a durable aluminum shell and sleek design identity that's largely similar to that of the best-selling Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
As of writing, Xiaomi Philippines hasn't issued any official statement about the imminent release of Mi Max 3 and Mi Max 3 Pro in our market. However, given the company's track record within the past six months, I'm inclined to believe that both models will be launched here just a few weeks after their release in the brand's home country, China.
