Xiaomi Pocophone F1 Philippines Price Starts at PHP 17,990, Officially Announced
Great news for Mi Fans in the Philippines who are waiting with baited breath for the official announcement of the company's all-new Pocophone F1 midrange Android smartphone with flagship specs here in our country!
I've just received an email from Xiaomi Philippines' PR agency, which confirms the imminent availability of this much anticipated model in our local market -- and the message even included official pricing details for the said handset.
According to Mr. Alvin Tse, Head of POCO Global - a subsidiary of Xiaomi, "POCO stands for 'a little' - we believe in starting small but dreaming big. As a small outfit within Xiaomi, POCO has the freedom to start from scratch, zeroing in on the product choices and technologies that matter. This is why we have created a smartphone that delivers unbelievable performance, focusing on the core innovations that truly matter, which we believe will resonate with tech enthusiasts."
Formed by a highly-experienced team within Xiaomi Global, the POCOPHONE sub-brand seeks to redefine the smartphone experience of consumers the world over by offering what they call "ultimate performance with no frills".
In line with this vision, the Pocophone F1 became a sensation among smartphone enthusiasts the world over as soon as it was announced by Xiaomi last week largely because of the caliber of internal hardware that it has even whilst having a very accessible price tag that's well within the 2018 midrange category.
Get this: This stellar model is powered by the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, which powers flagship Android smartphone models this year with more than three times the price tag, has 6GB RAM, and comes with 64GB and 128GB expandable storage options! On top of that, this smartphone even has LiquidCool Technology, which keeps its temperature fairly manageable even when playing resource intensive 3D games to further improve performance as you progress higher in your game play.
Apart from its innards, the handset also has other notable technical specifications including its large 6.18-inch FullHD+ IPS display with four rounded corners and a notch, 20 MegaPixel f/2.0 front snapper for selfies, 12MP f/1.9 + 5MP Depth Sensor Dual Rear Camera Module with Sony IMX363 primary sensor and Dual Pixel AutoFocus, and a large 4,000 mAh Li-Po battery pack for extended uptime with regular use. So how was Team Pocophone able to lower the price of this model? Well, for one, it cut corners in some areas. For instance, the shell of the F1 is crafted from mere polycarbonate or plastic, which is cheaper or less luxurious than glass or real metal.
So when exactly will this model be out in our country? According to Xiaomi PH, Pocophone F1 will initially be available via Lazada Philippines and will soon be up for purchase at all Mi Stores in our country.
