Instragram Voice Message Feature, Out Now : Here's How To Use It
Feels like only yesterday when Instagram first allowed users to send messages and photos to each other. I'm not sure if some of you still remember but it used to be that you can only upload filtered images on IG -- and that's it.
Today, Team Instagram made the app more social than ever before by releasing a new feature that allows you to send voice messages, which is a lot like what's already available on Facebook Messenger.
I have some friends who have left Facebook and Twitter altogether and are now using Instagram not just to share photos but also to stay in touch with family and friends. I'm sure they'll be delighted to see and use this app update, which makes messaging more personal and intimate.
To get Voice Messaging on your Instagram app, simply download the latest version from Google Play Store if you're using an Android smartphone or from Apple App Store if you're using an iPhone or an iPad.
Sending voice messages is really, all you have to do is to go the Direct Messages section of the app (the 'paper airplane' icon for it is found in the upper right corner of the home screen), click on or search for a user you want to connect with, click and hold the microphone icon in the message bar, and start talking.
Oh, when you do this for the first time, Instagram will ask for permission to use your handet's microphone. Simply click the 'ok' or 'allow' button to let it do so.
To delete a recorded voice message that you haven't sent, just tap on the "bin" icon.
If you made a mistake or if you changed your mind about a voice message that you have just sent, you can long press on it immediately and click "Unsend".
To listen to a voice message that your friend send you, just click on the play button and wait for the entire message to load.
