Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless Bluetooth Earphones Specs, Quick Review
Ever since Apple launched the Airpods in 2016, many mobile consumers have started to discover the freedom and convenience that Bluetooth-powered wireless earphones offer.
With the increase in demand for these earbuds, several new tech brands in China began crafting and releasing similar devices. In fact, today, the market is already flooded with many low-budget options to the Cupertino company's high-end product.
Despite their large number, however, so few of these alternatives can deliver stellar sound quality that can meet the taste of meticulous and finicky audiophiles.
Good thing, over the past couple of years, legendary European audio companies have also joined the wireless earphones game and have come up with their own versions of the device to make the competition more interesting.
One of the models that recently captured my fancy is the Momentum True Wireless by German tech giant Sennheiser, which has more than seven decades of experience in creating and marketing high-fidelity audio devices for personal and professional use.
Having used this product for a week now, I'd say that there are five things about it that make it a good purchase despite having a hefty price tag.
The first one would have to be its stellar sound quality.
It's so rare to find wireless earbuds these days that deliver good bass and brilliant trebles as well as vocals -- and Momentum is certainly one of them.
Is it the best sound I heard from a pair of earphones? Not quite - I have those bigger Beats and Marshall headphones to compare - but it's definitely the best I've gotten so far from a earbuds that are as small as these.
The second reason is this pair's ease of use through touch controls.
Simply tap once on the left bud to play or pause a track. Tap twice to skip to the next song or tap three times to go back to the previous track. If you want to increase the volume simply long press on the touch panel.
Another cool thing about Sennheiser Momentum TW is that it works with popular voice assistants, including Google, of course.
If you need to talk to Google about something while you are using the earphones, just tap once on the right bud and you can already ask it where's the nearest Starbucks branch or which song is currently at Billboard Hot 100 #1 position.
The fourth thing I like about Momentum TW is its carrying case.
For me, it looks just as classy and elegant as the buds themselves.
It flaunts a clam-shell design and a smooth textile finish that's both durable and eye-catching.
Some say it's quite big but actually, comparing it to the cases of my other wireless earbuds, it's a lot slimmer, which means that it's less bulky and annoying to keep in your jeans' front pocket.
Another cool thing about this case is that it also charges the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless earphones on the go!
In fact, it delivers up to 12 hours of uptime, which is already good when you're traveling on-board a plane or even when you're on the road. Sure, the battery life could be longer -- but for me, personally, it's alright.
Finally, I love that this pair is already Bluetooth 5.0 compliant -- and this means that it supports wider connectivity range with your smartphone. On top of that - and more importantly, this also made the device more energy-efficient and less prone to stuttering when playing music.
So is there anything that's not so cool about Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless Bluetooth Earbuds? Hmm. Well, frankly, it's a tad too expensive for many people. Here in the Philippines, its official suggested retail price is PHP 19,990, making it more pricey than many popular Android smartphones in the market. But hey, if you have the funds to get it and you think you deserve the high quality that this model possesses, go ahead and get.
If you're interested in this model, you might want to purchase it at Sennheiser's official store in LazadaPH from July 30 to August 3, 2019 as the company is offering 10% off on all their items. I heard that you will even get exciting and useful gadget gifts from Sennheiser when you buy products at their store on those days.
