MyPhone myX12 Price is PHP 5,499, Has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Internal Storage
Do you still remember the good old days when Pinoy brand MyPhone would release smartphones that can give handsets by international companies a big fight when it comes to technical specifications?
Many years ago, the MyPhone Rio and Infinity Series became a big hit among Filipinos for having great specs and more than decent features matched with low price tags.
In the past couple of years, because of the arrival of super competitive Chinese brands, MyPhone focused more on releasing ultra-low-budget Android smartphones and feature-phones that cater to the needs of the "masa" techies. They scaled down their operations but never gave up.
As a supporter of proudly Filipino companies, I am delighted to report that MyPhone is finally ready to deliver big specs on their affordable devices once again!
The all-new MyPhone myX12, which was debuted on the internet via TechPinas, is finally hitting store shelves real soon. This model heralds a new era for the company in terms of product design, feature set, and aggressive pricing.
Priced at only PHP 5,499, this remarkable handset already comes with stellar specifications that will surely delight budget-conscious mobile consumers who demand a lot from every gadget they purchase with their hard-earned money.
One of the highlights of this model is its large 6.26-inch HD+ IPS display that's sizable enough to give an improved experience with viewing photos, watching videos, and even playing 3D games.
Available in only one color, Nebular Blue, MyPhone myX12 flaunts a trendy design language with its high-gloss finish and eye-catching gradient look. The sides and corners are also rounded, making it easier to hold the phone or to keep it in the pocket.
Under the hood, this device runs its near-vanilla Android 9.0 Pie operating system with its 1.6 GHz Octa Core processor from UniSOC or Spreadtrum. The chipset is complemented by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage that can be expanded using a dedicated microSD card slot. This set of internal hardware is certainly a big treat on a device in this price category.
Right now, I'm interested to see how well this new processor from UniSOC works, especially when running popular games like Mobile Legends Bang Bang. I know some of you are worried that it might run hot when pushed to its limits -- so I'll try it out myself and let you know my findings. Stay tuned!
Now, as for imaging capabilities, this smartphone has a Dual Rear camera module made up of a 13 MegaPixel main camera with Sony Sensor that should perform decently even indoors plus a secondary VGA Depth Sensor that lets you add Bokeh Effect or background blur to portrait shots.
In front, MyPhone myX12 has a 5 MegaPixel camera that's powered by the company's Face Beauty software for selfies.
One of the more unique features of the MyPhone myX12 is its IR Blaster, which we usually only on high-end or flagship level Android smartphones. This sensor allows the phone to work as a remote control for various devices and appliances in your home. Currently, though, MyPhone is still developing its own application for this and they said that they will eventually send it to units via firmware upgrade. Nonetheless, the company's reps said that Xiaomi's remote control app that's available on Google Play Store works with myX12's IR Blaster.
Oh, and aside from that, MyPhone myX12 is one of the rare new releases that still has a removable battery, which I know many of you still prefer. This 3,500 mAh Li-Ion pack can deliver a whole day of uptime for casual users but it may not be enough for heavy gamers -- as such, I would suggest that you also get a MyPhone 10,000 mAh Powerbank, which sells for as low as PHP 399 if I'm not mistaken.
For those who are wondering, myX12's microUSB 2.0 charging port also supports USB On The Go. In fact, this handset works perfectly with the company's popular DTV Dongle that connects to this port.

MyPhone myX12 will be up for purchase at all MyPhone concept stores, kiosks, and authorized retail partners nationwide. You may also order your unit through the brand's freshly opened online store at shop.myphone.com.ph.
