Realme XT Philippines Price is PHP 16,990, Specs, Unboxing, Availability, Actual Unit Photos
Hot on the heels of the incredible market success of Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro in the Philippines, the Chinese handset maker is launching yet another amazing midrange Android smartphone in this market with stellar features and great imaging capabilities.
The all-new Realme XT, which was officially launched in the Philippines today - October 29, 2019, quite frankly looks like the Realme 5 Pro when viewed from some angles. However, one should not make the mistake of thinking that the two models are one and the same because Realme XT has superior features compared to the latter, which explains its heftier price tag of PHP 16,990.
For that amount, you will get this complete retail package. Let's check out all the items, one by one.
Of course, we have the Realme XT unit itself.
This is the USB Type C cable which you'll need for charging the device as well as for transferring photos and videos that you will take using it to your laptop or desktop.
This may look like your typical travel charger but it's rather special. This supports VOOC 3.0 20W Flash Charging innovation which gives you 75% charge with just 30 minutes of plugging the handset to an electrical outlet.
I like that the Quick Guide is just a small booklet with very few pages, giving us very concise yet useful information about the Realme XT. It's not boring to read and I recommend that you do so just to be more familiar with your new phone in case you get it.
You'll get the safety information as well as your warranty certificate in this single pamphlet.
This is the metal pin which you'll need to release or eject the SIM card tray.
I think it's great that Realme has already included a free soft gel case in the package so you won't have to buy one separately.
What you'll need to buy separately, though, is a pair of earphones or headphones since the retail unit doesn't include one. I guess it's one way that Realme was able to keep the price of this model fairly accessible despite its premium features.
Now, let's take a closer look at the Realme XT smartphone itself.
Whereas the Realme 5 Pro dons a 6.3-inch FullHD+ IPS display, Realme XT has a slightly larger 6.4-inch FullHD+ screen and what's cooler is that it's Super AMOLED, which is known to be more brilliant and energy-efficient than IPS panels.
Another thing that's amazing about Realme XT's screen is that it incorporates an Optical In-Display Fingerprint Scanner that's faster and more accurate than previous generation on-screen Finger Sensors. Realme 5 Pro doesn't have this feature as it has a traditional rear-mounted scanner.
Like its siblings from earlier this year, this model also flaunts a high-gloss gradient finish as well as rounded sides and corners that make it a real head-turner. You certainly won't be shy to flaunt this phone even in black tie events or corporate meetings. It looks very classy and elegant for a device that costs less than PHP 20,000.
The volume rocker and SIM card tray - which has two slots for nano SIM cards and one dedicated slot for a microSD card - are both found on the left side of the handset.
The power button which has a golden lining can be found on the right panel.
One of the true highlights of this Realme XT is its powerful Quad Rear Camera module, which consists of the following shooters:
1. 64 MegaPixels, f/1.8 Aperture, Standard Wide, 1/1.7", 0.8µm, Phase Detection AutoFocus
This is even more powerful than the 48 MegaPixel main camera of the Realme 5 Pro not only because of its higher resolution but more due to its large 1/1.7" sensor size which ensures great performance even in challenging lighting conditions.
This primary camera is also capable of shooting 4K videos at 30 frames per second as well as ultra-slow-motion FullHD clips.
2. 8 MegaPixels, f/2.2, 13mm, Ultra-Wide, 1/4", 1.12µm
Similar to what's on Realme 5 Pro, this snapper is useful for capturing landscape and architectural shots as well as group photos.
3. 2 MegaPixels, f/2.4, 1/5", 1.75µm, Dedicated Macro Camera
Capture and appreciate the most minute details or the smallest objects using this cam.
4. 2 MegaPixels, f/2.4, 1/5", 1.75µm, Depth Sensor
This one enables Portrait Mode that lets you add beautiful background blur or Bokeh Effect to images so you can further highlight the subject in each shot.
For those who still love to take selfies, the Realme XT has a 16 MegaPixel f/2.0 front cam that's powered by Realme's own AI Beautification software. This snapper can also record FullHD 30fps clips albeit it's a bit too cropped in. I wish Realme would put wider angle front cameras on their handsets, which will be very useful for vloggers and Youtube content creators.
Under the hood, Realme XT shares more or less similar specs with the Realme 5 Pro. The XT runs its ColorOS 6 customized Android 9.0 Pie operating system with a very capable and ultra-energy-efficient 10nm Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor that has an Adreno 616 GPU for buttery-smooth experience, Realme 5 Pro also comes with up to - get this - a whopping 8GB of RAM for seamless multitasking and 128GB of internal storage that's large enough for all of the photos and videos that you'll take using this device.
Realme XT is powered by a rather big 4,000 mAh Li-Po battery pack that supports VOOC 3.0 Flash Charging, which greatly cuts the time it takes to fully charge it so you can have more time using the smartphone to create and share content about things that you are passionate about like photography or videography.
VOOC 3.0 is also very useful for Mobile Legends Bang Bang players or avid mobile gamers like me who love running these titles regularly to destress or to bond with friends. We all appreciate more time playing games rather than plugging our phones to an outlet for extended periods.
That's it for now! Stay tuned for more TechPinas content about the Realme XT in the coming days!
