Vivo S1 Pro Specs and Actual Unit Photos : First Look at Vivo's New Stylish Smartphone
Last night - November 18, 2019 - at Single Origin Restaurant in Greenbelt 3, Makati City, our friends from Vivo Mobile Philippines gave me and my friends in the local tech blogging scene an exclusive first look at their upcoming midrange Android smartphone -- before its official launch on November 20, 2019.
"Wow! Look at that rear camera module design and finish! It's beautiful!"
That was my first reaction when I saw the all-new Vivo S1 Pro.
Positioned right above the Vivo S1 and just below the Vivo V17 Pro in terms of price and technical specifications, Vivo S1 Pro is currently the most premium model in the company's relatively fresh S-Series which is targeted towards fashion-forward and trendy millennials and Gen-Z consumers.
One of the highlights of this model would have to be its very large 6.38-inch FullHD+ SuperAMOLED display with 90% screen to body ratio, which truly delivers an enjoyable viewing experience whether you are playing games on the device or watching your favorite vlogs or TV series. The crisp details and brilliant colors delivered by the Super AMOLED panel will certainly delight young mobile users who see their handsets as their reliable companion for both work and play.
Budding mobile photographers will also appreciate Vivo S1 Pro's pro-grade Quad Rear Camera module that can be relied in for capturing various subjects, from people to landscape, from food to street scenes -- name it!

The secondary camera has an ultra-wide lens that makes it ideal for taking landscape, architectural, or large group shots. With it, you won't have to take several steps back just to capture more of the scene in front of you.
3. 2 MegaPixels, f/2.4, 1/5", 1.75µm, Dedicated Macro Camera, OV02A10-GA4H-1C
This unique camera lets you shoot small subjects close-up or to highlight the minutest details of an object.
4. 2 MegaPixels, f/2.4, 1/5", 1.75µm, Depth Sensor, GC3275H
The fourth camera captures depth information to enable Portrait Mode that lets you add bokeh effect or background blur to your images so you can highlight the subject further.
For those who love taking selfies, this model has a 32 MegaPixel f/2.0 front-facing camera housed in a Waterdrop Notch above the screen. This snapper is powered by Vivo's own AI Beauty software that automatically touches up your self-portraits, making them instantly ready for sharing on social media.
Truly a viable option for mobile gamers and power users, Vivo S1 Pro has a more than capable set of internal hardware that ensures lag-free overall mobile experience.
Inside it's sleek shell, Vivo S1 Pro runs its Funtouch OS 9.2 customized Android 9.0 Pie operating system with an 11nm Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor that's both powerful and energy-efficient. This chipset also incorporates an Adreno 610 GPU, which is one of the good ones in the mid-level echelon for mobile gaming.
For smooth multitasking experience, Vivo S1 Pro has a whopping 8GB RAM - which is the same amount you will get on some flagship level Android smartphones this year costing more than thrice as much - and there's also 128GB of internal storage where you can keep all your large files. Vivo S1 Pro even has a dedicated microSD card slot so you won't have to sacrifice Dual SIM capability just to get more space when you need it.
Another hallmark of the Vivo S1 Pro is its very large 4,500 mAh Li-Po battery that can be charged from 0% to 100% in less than two hours. Such a large pack ensures more than a whole day of uptime with regular use, which is great for young consumers who hate always charging their devices or carrying a large powerbank with them anywhere they go.
Having played with the device, I think one of the strongest suits of the Vivo S1 Pro is its downright gorgeous design identity and unique rear camera module design, which is actually one of its identifying physical characteristics.
I mentioned on Facebook that Vivo S1 Pro is like a handsome baby Vivo V17 Pro. It's true. I mean, this model doesn't have a notch-less face or a Dual Elevating Front Cam but I think that, in terms of power and imaging prowess, it's largely comparable to its more expensive sibling.
If only for that, I highly suggest that you check out this model when it comes available, which is real soon! I can't tell you its SRP just yet -- but off hand, I think it offers great bang for the buck.
Vivo S1 Pro is available in two colors, namely, Fancy Sky - which is the light-colored one - and Knight Black, shown in these last two images. Both variants have a glowing red power button, which is another identifying physical feature of this particular smartphone model.

At the gathering, Ms. Hazel Bascon - Vice President of Vivo Mobile Philippines - formally announced the suggested retail price of this new smartphone model, which is PHP 15,999.
The Pre-Order Period for Vivo S1 Pro is from November 21 to 30, 2019 and the handset will be available for 6 or 12 months installments through major credit cards as well as 6, 9, or 12 months installments via Home Credit.
