Chinese brand Honor is expected to make the sub-PHP 10,000 smartphone price bracket more interesting and competitive with the imminent release of Honor 20 Lite in the Philippines.

Simply put, Honor 20 Lite is a goodlooking handset with an updated design that happens to also have decent imaging capabilities, large screen, and fairly capable internal hardware given its price.

On the outside, Honor 20 Lite features an eye-catching gradient look and high-gloss finish that will surely prove attractive to young consumers, including students and even young professionals.

In front, this model has a 6.21-inch FullHD+ 1080 x 2340 pixels LTPS display that's large enough to deliver an enjoyable viewing experience when running applications for both work and play. Mobile gamers will also surely enjoy running their favorite titles on this sizable panel.

At the back, you will see one of the hallmarks of this relatively budget-friendly model, which is its Triple Rear Camera module, making it a pretty reliable cameraphone. This set-up is made up of the following shooters:

1. 24 MegaPixels, f/1.8 Aperture, Phase Detection AutoFocus

This is the most powerful camera of the bunch when it comes to capturing fine details and brilliant colors in well-lit conditions. With its wide aperture, it's also the best of the bunch when it comes to low-light performance.

This camera is also capable of recording FullHD 1080p videos up to 60 frames per second.

2. 8 MegaPixels, f/2.4, 13mm, Ultra-Wide Lens

Great for taking landscape, architectural, and group photos, this snapper has an ultra-wide lens that lets you capture more of the scene in front of the camera without the photographer having to take several steps back.

This camera enables bokeh or shallow depth of field effect in portrait mode. The beautifully blurred background makes the subject pop out more in such images.

For selfie-lovers, this model has a 32 MegaPixel f/2.0 camera housed in the notch above the screen. This snapper also has HDR mode, which works well with Honor's own beautification software to deliver brilliant selfies that are ready for instantly sharing on social media.

Under the hood, Honor 20 Lite runs its EMUI 9 customized Android 9.0 Pie operating system with its 12nm 2.2 GHz Octa Core Hisilicon Kirin 710 processor with Mali-G51 MP4 GPU that should deliver a fairly smooth mobile gaming experience; It won't be the smoothest gameplay you'll get from a 2019 smartphone but it definitely won't be terrible or lag-laden.

This chipset is complemented by a decent amount of RAM at 4GB and a rather impressive 128 GB of internal storage that can even be expanded using the microSD card slot. Sadly, you'd have to sacrifice Dual SIM capability if you want more space as this smartphone has a hybrid secondary nanoSIM slot that shares its space with the memory expansion slot.

Now, as for the battery, this model is powered by a 3,400 mAh Li-Po pack that should deliver a whole day of uptime - on paper. However, I would advice buyers to also grab a powerbank if they are big on gaming or running multiple apps at once.
