Vivo V17 'Clear as Real' Android Smartphone, Officially Launched in India
Given the great market performance of Vivo V17 Pro, Vivo S1, and Vivo NEX 3 in many countries around the world, it's perhaps safe to say that 2019 has been one of the best years of Vivo Mobile so far -- and despite the fact that we're literally just four weeks away from 2020, the company is still making the most of this year.
Earlier today - December 9, 2019, Vivo Mobile India officially announced an all-new midrange Android smartphone that's positioned right under the Vivo V17 Pro.
The sleek and eye-catching Vivo V17 may be a watered down version of its more powerful and pricier sibling but it certain has its own merits.
One of the hallmarks of Vivo V17 is its near-bezel-less 6.36-inch FullHD+ Super AMOLED display with a punch-hole in the upper right corner, housing the 32 MegaPixel front-facing selfie camera. Looking at actual photos of the device, I'd have to say that this is a great rendition of the "display punch hole" as it is very small and almost not noticeable. I guess this is one of the factors that allow Vivo V17 to deliver a "clear as real" viewing experience to the user.
Unlike the Vivo V17 Pro, the Vivo V17 lacks a motorized elevating Dual Front-Facing camera with standard and ultra-wide angle field of views as well as Soft LED flash.
Another highlight of this smartphone is its rather unique looking L-shaped Quad AI Rear Camera Module that's made up of a 48 MegaPixel primary shooter which is the most powerful of the bunch, an 8 MegaPixel ultra-wide snapper for architecture and landscape shots, a 2 MegaPixel Macro camera, and a 2 MegaPixel Depth Sensor enabling Portrait Mode.
This cameraphone also features Super Night Mode that gives you "clear as real" images even in challenging ambient lighting conditions.
Under the hood, Vivo V17 runs its Funtouch OS 9.2 skinned Android 9.0 Pie operating system with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 processor that's complemented by a whopping 8GB of RAM and 128 of internal storage that can be expanded using the dedicated microSD card slot.
This handset is powered by a large 4,500 mAh Li-Po battery supporting 18W fast charging. This is one department where Vivo V17 has superiority over the Vivo V17 Pro as the earlier release only has a 4,100 mAh pack.
Vivo V17 with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM dons an official SRP of INR 22,990 in India, which puts it head to head with many successful midrange Android smartphone models this year including those by Realme, Xiaomi, Samsung and OPPO.
Off hand, it remains to be seen whether Vivo V17 will likewise be officially released in the Philippines as its price is close to that of Vivo S1 Pro, which is Vivo Mobile Philippines' freshly launched smartphones for young, trendy, and fashion-forward consumers. Kindly stay tuned for updates!
