2020 Samsung Galaxy S20 and Fold2, Expected To Be Announced on February 11
Teaser posters and videos for Samsung's first 2020 Unpacked Event have just surfaced online -- and looking at the materials, which feature two boxes in lieu of the letter A in the word "Galaxy", it seems that the Korean Giant will be unveiling a couple of key models or product categories - yet again - at the media gathering.
Historically, Samsung Mobile formally announces its flagship or top-of-the-line Galaxy S Series Android smartphones in its Q1 Unpacked Event but last year the company also introduced the maiden Galaxy Fold model, a tablet hybrid which folds in the middle to become smartphone-sized.
This year, tech bloggers and editors are expecting the world's most prolific handset maker to unveil the all-new Samsung Galaxy S20 Series as well as the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2, which - respectively - are the natural follow-up to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Series and the Samsung Galaxy Fold from 2019.
Previously called by industry insiders and Samsung fans as Samsung Galaxy S11+, the 2020 ultra-premium Galaxy S20 will purportedly sport a multi-rear-camera system featuring an innovative, higher-level pixel-binning technology that combines nine pixels into one super pixel for images with greater clarity and brilliance even in challenging lighting conditions.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to build upon the unique selling points of its predecessor - including its ultra-large display and multi-tasking-centric software - while addressing its points for improvement as noted by various tech reviewers. Some "serial gadget leakers", however, are saying that the Fold2 won't be as big as the original but will instead have a more traditional smartphone look when unfolded, which means that it will simply fold in the middle like the re-imagined Moto RAZR released last year.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked will be held on February 11, 2020. The Korean Giant has yet to confirm the official venue for the main global event but insiders are saying that it either be in New York or Los Angeles, USA. The company is also expected hold Local Unpacked event in key locations around the world, including the Philippines.
