MediaTek Helio G25 and G35 Specs Make Them Good Processors for Affordable Gaming Smartphones
On Tuesday - June 30, 2020, the fourth largest processor brand in the world MediaTek officially launched new chipsets that are made specifically for entry-level gaming-centric Android smartphones.
The all-new MediaTek Helio G25 and MediaTek Helio G35 Octa-Core processors have notable features that can enhance the gaming capabilities of handsets all while having a budget-friendly proposition that can help keep the cost of these devices accessible to more consumers.
MediaTek Helio G25 and G35 share the following key features:
1. MediaTek HyperEngine gaming technology that optimizes the performance of handsets through intelligent resource management and faster, more reliable internet connectivity.
2. MediaTek TAS 2.0 smart antenna that automatically detects signal quality and minimizes power consumption when the smartphone is online.
3. Multi-Camera support allows for a Dual Rear camera module with Bokeh Effect and AI capability.
4. 12nm Architecture and MediaTek HyperEngine enables intelligent power management that can help extend the uptime or battery life of devices.
Both MediaTek Helio G25 and G35 feature an Octa-Core ARM Cortex A53 CPU and an IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU but the more affordable G25 have these components clocked at 2GHz and 650MHz respectively compared to the higher 2.3GHz and 680MHz clock speeds of the more pricey G35.
The two chipsets support Two-Camera set-ups and FullHD 30fps video recording on smartphones but G25 only allows for the maximum resolution of the main camera to be 21 MegaPixels versus 25 MegaPixels by G35.
But perhaps the biggest difference between these two new MediaTek processors is that the G25 only supports HD+ displays while the G35 can power FullHD+ panels.
Nonetheless, when it comes to gaming performance, G25 and G35 can definitely deliver an improved experience for users who will be upgrading from older affordable Android handsets.
According to Dr. Yenchi Lee, Deputy General Manager of the Wireless Communications Business Unit of MediaTek, "Mobile gaming is now the preferred mode of entertainment across market segments. MediaTek expanded its G-series to meet the huge demand for competitively priced, mainstream gaming smartphones."
Expect MediaTek Helio G25 and G35 processors to be featured in the technical specifications table of new entry-level Android smartphones that will be released later this year or early in 2021.
