StatCounter Is Down, The Tables Are Not Working
Since 2009, I've been using StatCounter as one of my ways for tracking and analyzing the traffic of my websites -- and to be fair to them, they ever rarely go offline.
However, today - July 13, 2020 - at around 3 o'clock in the afternoon here in the Philippines, StatCounter suddenly stopped working.
I actually learned about it quite late already - at around 10 in the evening - when checked one of my site's traffic and I saw a massive drop in views compared to previous days.
I thought I had lost a keyword or two in the search engines -- but thankfully, when I cross-checked data on Google Analytics, the chart looked normal as shown below.
As a long-time StatCounter user, I thought that what had happened is very unusual for the company so I checked their social media accounts, including their Facebook Page and Twitter handle, but I didn't see any announcement about an outage during that time.
Anyway, I hope it's just a minor hiccup.
I do wish, though, that Team StatCounter would be more active on social networking sites so bloggers and website owners like me who have been using their service for so long can converse with them and thank them for their dedication. And of course, through those platforms, they can easily tell us if anything's wrong so we won't have to worry too much.
Oh, in case they read this: Warm regards to Team StatCounter! Thank you so much for everything!
