Realme X3 SuperZoom Specs, Unboxing, Actual Photos, and Initial Impressions
Hot on the heels of its very successful launches for the realme 6i, realme 6, and 6 Pro, the hotshot tech brand will soon be launching practically its first flagship-level Android smartphone in the Philippines.
The all-new realme X3 SuperZoom X3 comes with technical specifications that we usually only see on handsets that cost upwards of PHP 40,000 -- but if this release were to follow the brand's familiar pricing scheme, there's reason to believe that it will come with a far more affordable SRP.
Right now, I don't the exact information on the pricing details of this model in our country as it has yet to be formally announced. However, I can already share with you my unboxing photos as well as my initial impressions about the product.
As you can see, although it's a flagship model, realme X3 SuperZoom's packaging is similar to that of the above-mentioned realme models in the midrange bracket.
This one comes in a plain yellow box with the name of the handset printed on top and these four key selling points clearly listed down in the bottom:
1. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus with HyperBoost Technology
2. 120Hz Ultra Smooth Display
3. 64MP AI Quad Camera with 60X SuperZoom
4. 32MP + 8MP Dual In-Display Front-Facing Selfie Camera
I'll talk more about all these features later.
When you lift the cover, you will be greeted by this message from realme that's printed on the paper sleeve containing documentation, "Let's embrace a new journey." How welcoming, right?
Inside that sleeve, you will see the realme X3 SuperZoom important information guide which also serves as the warranty card for the phone.
realme had also included a free soft gel case that you will really need to install on the device it has impact points that I'd say are prone to being dented or scratched.
Underneath the paper sleeve, there's the realme X3 Super Zoom wrapped in a plastic sheet that protects it during shipment. I will give you a close look at this handset in a bit.
Then, we have the USB Type C to USB connector cable that you need to use in tandem with the provided 6A Max Output Travel charger to enjoy the 30W Fast Charging feature of this model.
Finally, here's the metal pin for ejecting the SIM card tray that has two slots for nanoSIM cards. Sadly, this model lacks a microSD card slot memory expansion slot, which is also the case for other flagship-level smartphones in the market today.
Alright! Now, let me show you more of this stellar smartphone and give you my initial impressions about it.
realme X3 SuperZoom's aesthetics are comparable to that of realme 6 Pro as they have almost the same screen to body ratio, curved back panel sides and corners, button locations, and even rear camera module placement.
Nonetheless, realme X3 SuperZoom does have a more high-end feel because of the metallic sheen of its side trimming and the more subdued look of the backplate with pearl finish that gleams depending on how light hits it.
If you want a smartphone with an effortlessly classy look that goes well in various events and environments, including corporate and smart casual, I think you will find realme X3 SuperZoom very attractive and eye-catching.
Like its more affordable siblings, realme X3 SuperZoom's volume up and down buttons are located on the left panel while the power button is placed on the right.
The handset's fingerprint scanner is integrated with the power button on the side. It's optical so it's quite fast and accurate.
If you're right-handed, I suggest that you also register your pointer finger along with your thumb so you can quickly unlock the phone as soon as you pick it up from the table.
On top, there's a stereo microphone pinhole and nothing else.
And the bottom, you will find the holes for the loudspeaker, the USB Type C charging port, another stereo mic pinhole, and the SIM card tray that you can eject using the provided metal pin.
For me, one of the most attractive features of the realme X3 SuperZoom is its 6.6-inch FullHD+ 120Hz Super Smooth IPS Display that doesn't only deliver clear and crisp details and colors but also makes screen transitions and effects appear buttery smooth because of the very high refresh rate. Just swiping your finger across the home screen or the app drawer will instantly make you appreciate this high-end specification.
Made for budding and avid mobile photographers, realme X3 SuperZoom has these four AI-powered cameras at the back that can truly elevate users' imaging experience:
1. 8 MegaPixels, f/3.4, 124mm Periscope Zoom Telephoto, PDAF, Optical Image Stabilization OIS, 5x Optical Zoom
This camera is one of the reasons why this model is deemed worthy of its SuperZoom branding. This periscope-style telephoto shooter allows this smartphone to deliver up to a whopping 60X zoom when snapping photos and 30X zoom when taking videos. With it, no subject is too far away to be captured in images.

Of the four rear cameras, I'd say this one is the go-to shooter for everyday point-and-shoot photography because of its ultra-high resolution. The wide aperture and the large sensor size also make it the best when taking low-light images.

If you're into architectural or landscape photography, you will certainly find this ultra-wide-angle camera useful because it's great for capturing scale. You will also find it handy for taking large group shots when you are traveling with friends or workmates.

Great for capturing photos of insects, flowers, or minute details on larger objects, this camera lets get close to your subject like none of the other three.
Now, as for the rear camera module's video recording prowess, the main and telephoto cameras take 4K videos up to 30 frames per second or 1080p 60fps but only up to 10X zoom. The ultra-wide-angle shooter only lets you record FullHD 1080p 30fps clips. The 30X zoom video recording feature is limited to 1080p 30fps.
Now, for those who love taking selfies and groufies, realme X3 SuperZoom has a Dual Front-Facing camera with the following snappers:

Obviously, this one is the more powerful of the two as it has a higher resolution and a larger sensor. It should give you clear and crisp selfies even in situations wherein the ambient light is not that good.

Although it has a lower resolution and smaller sensor, the secondary front-cam nonetheless has an ultra-wide-angle lens that lets you include more of your friends and loved in your groufies.
Both cameras also have an HDR mode for photos so even if your selfie's background is really bright, it doesn't get blown out.
If you're a vlogger, Youtuber, or TikToker, you will definitely appreciate the fact that both of these cameras can record FullHD 1080p 30fps clips with - get this - automatic video HDR and electronic image stabilization. I think the ultra-wide-angle front-cam will be useful when recording travel vlogs since it shows the viewers more of your background for context; I have yet to try that out, though, since we are still in quarantine.
