realme C12 Philippines Price is PHP 5,990, Specs, Release Date, Key Features

To bid goodbye to August and welcome September 2020 with open arms, hotshot tech brand realme announced a couple of new products at its star-studded Fan Fest broadcast virtually from Hyatt Hotel last August 28, 2020.

Targeted towards the youth, just like its slightly pricier look-alike - the realme C15, the all-new realme C12 has a very accessible price tag all while having several key features that make it an ideal online learning companion in the new normal.

Design-wise, in line with what I said above, the realme C12 looks almost exactly like the C15 as it has the same 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display in front with small water-drop notch, the same "squircle" camera module, and even the same back panel finish replete with micro-lines and metallic sheen.

The main differences between the two models, though, are the following:

1. C12 only has three cameras at the back compared to four on the C15.
2. realme C12's front-facing camera only has a resolution of 5MP versus 8MP on the C15.
3. The maximum storage option for C12 is 32GB whereas C15 has a 64GB variant.
4. Although both phones have a massive 6,000 mAh battery pack, C12 only supports 10W charging unlike C15 which has the 18W Fast Charging feature.
5. realme C15 has a version with 4GB RAM whereas C12 only has one model with 3GB of RAM.

Needless to say, realme C12 is definitely the less powerful model when you compare it to the realme C15 but at least, this new release is also more affordable at just PHP 5,990, which is something budget-conscious consumers can take solace in.

As an online learning companion, realme C12's useful features include the huge display that's great for viewing videos and reading articles, the high-capacity battery pack for extended virtual classes, the Triple Rear Camera module - made up of a 13MP main camera, 8MP ultra-wide shooter, and 2 MP depth sensor - that can be used for adding images to projects, the FullHD front and back video recorder for making online video presentations as well as for virtual meetings with classmates and teachers, and finally, the 12nm Octa Core MediaTek Helio G35 processor that minimizes lags and even makes the phone capable of running resource intensive applications.

To wrap up, I'd say that realme C12 is another great budget-friendly smartphone from this company. Although, if you ask me, I would suggest that you spend a bit more and just grab the realme C15 since the 3GB + 64GB version of that model only costs PHP 500 more; With it, you can get more storage space, faster charging, and a higher-resolution front-camera if you enjoy taking selfies.

But hey, if PHP 6,000 is the most you can spend on a new smartphone given the pandemic and the challenges that we are all facing, go ahead and grab this one. I don't think you will regret doing it since realme is a great handset-maker. As a realme smartphone owner myself, I can definitely stand by that statement.

Now available at realme Stores online and in malls, realme C12 is out in two youthful and eye-catching colors, namely, Coral Red and Marine Blue.
