Xiaomi Mi 10T 5G Philippines Price Starts at PHP 19,990, Officially Announced! Here Are Launch Promo Details and Freebies!

On Thursday - October 15, 2020 - at around 8 in the evening, disruptive tech company Xiaomi formally introduced two new 5G-enabled flagship level Android smartphone in the Philippines through a virtual launch on Facebook.

Of the two models, the more affordable one is the Xiaomi Mi 10T which sells for PHP 19,990 and considering its stellar feature set, I think I'm highly inclined to recommend this one for those who are now planning to upgrade from their midrange Android smartphone to their first flagship or top-of-the-line handset.

Flaunting a sleek aluminum mid-frame sandwiched by scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 5 back and front panels, Xiaomi Mi 10T has a beautiful display, comes with great imaging capabilities, offers long battery life as well as ultra-fast charging, features powerful internal hardware, and supports the latest generation ultra-fast 5G mobile data technology.

In front, the Mi 10T sports a large and vibrant 6.67-inch FullHD+ IPS display with an incredible 144Hz refresh rate for ultra-smooth screen transitions, more immersive gameplay, and more "natural feel" when scrolling. This high refresh rate can usually be experienced on handsets that cost upwards of PHP 40,000 so for me, it's a real treat to get on a sub-PHP 20,000 smartphone.

As I've noted, this display is protected by scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which you'll also find on the back part for added protection against the knocks, bumps, and scrapes of daily use.

Speaking of the back panel, Mi 10T sports a powerful Triple Rear Camera module that's made up of a 64 MegaPixel main camera with wide f/1.8 aperture and large 1/1.73-inch sensor for great low-light performance, a 13 MegaPixel camera with ultra-wide lens for capturing scale needed in landscape and architectural photography, and a 5 MegaPixel macro camera for close-up imagery as in snapping photos of insects or flowers.

If you look at the rear camera module design, you might think that there's another camera just beside the LED flash. However, it is said to be just another ambient light sensor that helps enable the phone better measure the lighting condition around the phone for better on automatic screen brightness adjustment.

Under the hood, Xiaomi Mi 10T runs its MIUI 12 customized Android 10 operating system with a true flagship level 7nm+ Octa Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 GPU for top-notch mobile gaming experience. Again, this chipset is usually found on Android smartphones that cost upwards of PHP 40,000 so it's amazing how Xiaomi was able to put it on a fairly affordable handset.

This beastly processor is complemented by either 6GB of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of non-expandable internal storage. Personally, I suggest that you just get the version with 8GB of RAM if you're already spending that kind of money so you can future proof your purchase.

Now, as for the battery, Xiaomi Mi 10T is powered by a large 5,000 Li-Po pack that easily ensures a whole day of uptime for power users and even multiple days for those who use their handset mainly for social media, viewing videos, or reading articles and emails.

What's even more amazing is that the high-capacity battery even supports 33W fast charging that should allow the user to get from 0% to 100% in a little more than an hour of plugging the device to an electrical outlet.

Personally, I think one of the most special features of Xiaomi Mi 10T is its 5G mobile connectivity support. 5G, which is now available in select parts of the Philippines, allows the user to enjoy speeds of up to 2Gbps for downloading large files in literally a heartbeat. I have yet to test, though, if Xiaomi Mi 10T works with Smart's 5G SIM and service.
