OnePlus 9 Pro with Hasselblad Pro Camera Mode Is Potentially A Top 2021 Flagship Smartphone Contender
After weeks of building up excitement among fans by sharing photos and videos
taken using the yet-to-be-released handset's cameras, OnePlus CEO
Pete Lau finally unveiled the first images of the upcoming 2021
OnePlus 9 Pro flagship Android smartphone on his Twitter feed tonight -
March 15, 2021 - at around 7:45 PM, Manila Time.
The all-new OnePlus 9 Pro - shown here in its White colorway - is
slated to be the most powerful smartphone that the company will release in
2021, having top-notch internal hardware as well as stellar imaging
capabilities.
Apart from being powered by the all-new top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon
888 processor and having a whopping 12GB of RAM, 2.5D curved glass screen,
as well as ultra-fast 65W fast charging support, OnePlus 9 Pro sports a
remarkable Quad Rear Camera Module, which includes an incredible 108 MegaPixel main camera
with Sony IMX789 sensor and a 48 MegaPixel ultra-wide-angle shooter with
Sony IMX766 sensor.
The very high resolution of these cameras could be enough reason for many
consumers to consider OnePlus 9 Pro as a terrific 2021 flagship cameraphone
contender -- but what's even more amazing is that OnePlus has partnered with
an imaging industry legend to further enhance the imaging algorithms of this
handset to - what some believe are already - professional levels.
For those who aren't familiar with this iconic camera company,
Hasselblad is a Swedish tech titan which made the first-ever camera
to land on the moon, the first consumer camera, and the first Medium-format
mirrorless digital camera. Suffice it to say, the people behind Hasselblad
as well as their loyal fans across the world know what it takes to take
great photos that evoke emotions.
OnePlus 9 Pro as well as its more affordable sibling - OnePlus 9 - are the
first high-end cameraphones from the company to have Pro imaging software
that was tuned by Hasselblad itself to deliver images with radiant yet
true-to-life colors.
To quote Mr. Pete Lau, "Here’s an important number to know about the OnePlus 9
Series: 68.7 billion. That’s how many colors are possible when taking
photos in Pro Mode, because we included 12-bit RAW format. More colors,
smoother transitions, and more freedom if you choose to edit."
He added, "Another little something for the #OnePlus9Series Pro Mode: Focus
Peaking. It highlights the edges with highest contrast and helps you find just
the right focus. People were asking what we meant when we said we'd be putting
more into our camera. The answer is: Everything."
Another thing that's totally exciting about the OnePlus 9 Pro is its
DOL-HDR for Video innovation, which is an enhanced form of HDR that's
even more powerful with backlighting and reducing noise for richer, more
natural details.
As a budding Youtuber and video content creator, I'm looking forward to trying
that feature out to see if it truly makes videos more visually appealing and
less of a hassle to edit.
A lot to look forward to, right? Offhand, with all the great things I've
been reading about the OnePlus 9 Pro across the board, I have a feeling that
this model will be one of the best smartphone releases of 2021. I just can't
wait to get my hands on it through Digital Walker, which is the
authorized distributor of OnePlus smartphones here in the Philippines.
