TECNO Spark 6 Air Philippines Price is PHP 4,690 - Here Are Its Specs, Features, and Actual Unit Photos
Hotshot international handset maker TECNO Mobile has just released a
new Android smartphone in the Philippines -- and this fresh model is ideal for Pinoy consumers who are a bit tight on budget but are now thinking about finally upgrading
their entry-level phone.
TECNO Spark 6 Air is priced at only PHP 4,690 and it already
comes with several key features that make it a great-value-for-money
purchase.
Before I talk about this device's main selling points, allow me to share
with you these quick unboxing photos.
TECNO Spark 6 Air comes in this striking yellow-and-light-blue box that
frankly looks very eye-catching. This color combination also makes it appear
quite unique compared to the packaging of the brand's main competitors in
the market.
What I have here is the version with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of Internal
Storage. Our friends from TECNO have yet to disclose if they will release
other variants of this model in the future.
The smartphone's technical specifications are clearly written at the bottom
of the box so the buyer knows exactly what he or she can enjoy on the
device.
Lifting the box's cover, we are greeted by the handset wrapped in this
plastic sheet, which shows images of Manchester City Football Club's
players well as a list of the four key features of the handset, which I'll
talk more about in a bit.
The complete TECNO Spark 6 Air official retail package includes the
handset itself, the user guide, the 12+1 months warranty card, the metal
pin for ejecting the SIM card tray, the travel charger, the micro-USB
charging cable, a wired headset, and a free soft gel case so you won't
have to buy one separately.
Alright! Now, let's take a closer look at the TECNO Spark 6 Air.
Turning on the device for the first time, we can instantly appreciate one of
its main selling points which is the massive 7-inch HD+ Dot-Notch IPS LCD
display.
This crisp and brilliant screen is large enough to deliver an enjoyable
and compelling visual experience when watching videos, playing games,
reading blogs, viewing vlogs, or even just checking your social media
accounts. It also makes thumb-typing on the touchscreen a lot easier and
faster.
Above the display, there's a small notch housing the handset's 8 MegaPixel
front-facing camera for snapping selfies. This shooter is powered by TECNO's
own beautification software that gives you self-portraits that are ready for
sharing on social media without the need for editing.
Another highlight of the TECNO Spark 6 Air would have to be its Triple
Rear Camera module that's made up of a 13-MegaPixel f/1.8 AutoFocus main
camera that's the best of the bunch for daily point-and-shoot photography
and low-light performance, a secondary 2-MegaPixel Depth Sensor enabling
portrait mode for that luscious background blur behind subjects to make
each shot look for interesting, and a tertiary AI Camera that - I think -
helps figure out what the subject is for the imaging software to apply the
ideal exposure settings.
As you see in the photo above, the camera module comes with a Quad-LED Flash
that's powerful enough to ensure that your shots are well-lit even in
situations or settings with very little to no ambient light.
For those who are into recording videos for
Youtube, Facebook, or TikTok, TECNO Spark 6 Air's main camera at the
back and front-facing cam can shoot up FullHD videos at 30 frames per
second, which is good enough for consumption on larger screens. As an added
treat, however, the smartphone can also record Slow-Motion 480p videos at
180 frames per second that can be useful for those who want to come up with
more creative content.
As for the handset's build, the shell is crafted from polycarbonate but
the high-gloss finish and metallic sheen give the device an air of luxury
and sophistication. Frankly, this phone looks and feels more expensive
than it actually is.
Like what you can see in these images, the volume up and down keys as well
as the power button are located in the right panel while the "ejectable"
tray containing the SIM card slots and the dedicated microSD card slot is
found on the left side.
At the back, we can see TECNO Spark 6 Air's beautiful 2.5D curvature that
makes it easy to hold as well as the gorgeous design pattern that appears to
gleam as light hits it.
Also, at the back, we see the rear-mounted Fingerprint Scanner that can work
alongside Facial Recognition and the usual pattern and passcode unlock
procedures to add a veritable layer of privacy and protection for the user.
The connectivity features of TECNO Spark 6 Air include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n,
4G LTE-A, and Bluetooth 5.0. The phone even comes with "Bluetooth Audio
Share" that lets you play your favorite songs on multiple Bluetooth-enabled
devices and speakers around your home for a more enjoyable and immersive
audio experience.
Under the hood, TECNO Spark 6 Air runs its HiOS 6.2 UI customized Android 10
operating system with a 12nm 1.8 GHz Octa Core MediaTek Helio P22 processor
that's good enough to provide a smooth and lag-free experience when running
light applications and games.
As I've noted earlier, this chipset is complemented by 3GB of RAM and 32GB
of internal storage that can easily be expanded using the dedicated microSD
card slot.
I think this set of internal hardware is more than good enough given the
price of TECNO Spark 6 Air. I mean, while we can't call this model a
"gaming beast", it's certain no "push-over" when it comes to what it can
deliver in its price bracket.
For me, though, the most attractive feature of the TECNO Spark 6 Air (apart
from its large screen) would be its very big 6,000 mAh Li-Po battery.
This ginormous, high-capacity pack easily ensures more than 24 hours of
uptime coming from a full charge. Heck, if you're not really a power user or
if you just use your smartphone mainly for chatting, updating social media
accounts, or browsing photos, I believe this battery can even last for three
days straight until the next charge.
I think this is great for those who hate always carrying a large powerbank
in their bag or pocket just to make sure that their handset won't run out of
juice in the middle of the day.
Oh, and another thing, this huge battery also supports 18W Fast Charging
-- so you can spend more time using TECNO Spark 6 Air to do the things you
love like shooting TikTok videos or snapping selfies and less time
plugging it to an electrical outlet.
