Facebook and Instagram are Down, Confirmed by FB on Twitter
Are you currently at your wits' end trying to figure out why you can't seem
to update your Facebook or Instagram account on your smartphone or if you
can't open these websites on your laptop or desktop's web browser?
Well, let me tell you this:
If you experienced this issue at around 12:20AM on October 5, 2021 (Manila
Time), then it has nothing to do with your internet connection -- so don't
call your broadband or mobile data provider and blame them for this
problem.

At 12:22 AM today - October 5, 2021, Facebook posted a tweet on its official
Twitter account practically confirming that their applications and products,
including Instagram and Messenger, are currently down.
To quote FB, "We're aware that some people are having trouble accessing our
apps and products. We're working to get things back to normal as quickly as
possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience."
Facebook didn't disclose the exact reason for this service interruption -- but
I think it's nice they bothered to apologize to their users for this hiccup.
If you remember, on December 10, 2020 at around 6PM,
Facebook's services also went down
in various countries including the Philippines, Thailand, and India, among
others -- and back then, the company didn't even bother to acknowledge the
problem nor to say sorry to affected users even after the service was
restored.
Anyway, it's now 1:18AM and Facebook remains down. Gee, I wonder what's
happening? I wish Facebook would let us know.
