Apple iPhone 15 Series Will Have Bigger Batteries, Says Foxconn Insider
A recent rumor originating from a purported insider at a Foxconn factory in
China suggests that Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 lineup will feature notable
improvements in battery capacity across all four models.
The rumored battery sizes for the Apple iPhone 15 Series are as follows: the
Apple iPhone 15 with a 3,877 mAh battery, the Apple iPhone 15 Plus with 4,912
mAh, the Apple iPhone 15 Pro with 3,650 mAh, and the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max
with 4,852 mAh.
It's worth noting that these rumored increases in battery capacity are
significant, and if they turn out to be true, Apple's devices would likely
perform exceptionally well in terms of battery life. This would mark the first
time that any iPhone model comes close to the 5,000 mAh mark. Furthermore,
considering Apple's reputation for optimizing their in-house designed chips,
the battery life on these devices is expected to be outstanding.
Nevertheless, I'd like to highlight that many Android smartphones currently
available in the market still offer larger battery capacities compared to the
speculated battery sizes for the iPhone 15 lineup.
In line with a previous rumor, it is speculated that this year's iPhones will
have a slightly thicker form factor compared to their predecessors. This would
make sense if larger batteries are being incorporated into the devices, as a
thicker design allows for more space to accommodate the increased battery
capacity.
In our earlier Apple iPhone 15 Pro Case Leaked story, I surmised that models in the 2023 Apple iPhone 15 Series could look almost exactly like their counterparts from 2022. Hence, these images of the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max and 14 Pro, respectively, give us a glimpse of how Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro could end up looking. With this latest rumor, though, I now expect the upcoming models to be a bit thicker and heftier.
Another rumor from Weibo, often referred to as China's Twitter equivalent,
suggests that the base storage for the iPhone 15 Pro will be doubled to 256GB,
whereas the non-Pro models will retain the current 128GB base storage. This
potential difference in storage capacity between the Pro and non-Pro models
would serve as an additional distinguishing feature.
It's important to approach these rumors with caution as they are unofficial
and subject to change. However, if these reports hold true, it's evident that
Apple is making strides to enhance the battery life of their iPhone 15 series.
