OnePlus Open Foldable Smartphone Specs and Price, Officially Announced

OnePlus, a global tech brand beloved by its fans, has finally ventured into the world of foldable smartphones with the exciting OnePlus Open. This device marks the company's first foray into the foldable phone market, and it's already turning heads with its innovative design and top-notch hardware.

The OnePlus Open adopts a unique shorter and wider book-style foldable design, making it more comfortable and practical for everyday use. This design is reminiscent of the recently announced Oppo Find N3, but the OnePlus Open takes this concept to a broader global audience.

When closed, the OnePlus Open boasts a 6.31-inch Super Fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with a dynamic refresh rate of 10-120Hz and a near-conventional 20:9 aspect ratio. The display impresses with a typical brightness of 1,400 nits and an astounding peak brightness of 2,800 nits.

But the real magic happens when you unfold the OnePlus Open, revealing a larger 7.82-inch Flexi-fluid LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with the same dynamic refresh rate capabilities and incredible peak brightness. This expansive screen provides ample real estate for your apps and content.

The OnePlus Open comes in two appealing finishes: Voyager Black with a faux leather back or Emerald Dusk (green) with a glass back. European buyers will be limited to the latter option for reasons not entirely clear. The OnePlus Open is impressively lightweight, with the black model weighing 239g and the green variant at 245g, both lighter than the competing Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5. Notably, it retains the iconic OnePlus alert slider.

OnePlus has gone all out in the camera department, equipping the OnePlus Open with a remarkable five-camera setup, all tuned by Hasselblad. The primary camera features Sony's new 48MP LYTIA-T808 "pixel stacked" sensor with optical stabilization, promising improved low-light performance.
