Gilas Pilipinas, grouped with New Zealand, Hong Kong, and Chinese Taipei in Group B, will engage in home-away matches starting from February 22 against Hong Kong (8 pm) and February 25 against Chinese Taipei (7:30 pm).
This February schedule marks the initial of six windows for the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, wherein the top two teams from each of the six groups will progress to the 2025 Asia Cup in Qatar.
Under the leadership of Tim Cone, the most successful coach in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), Gilas aims to leverage team continuity to advance in the qualifiers. Cone previously led the core team to the Philippines' first Asian Games gold in 61 years.
Cone's Gilas 12 comprises notable players such as June Mar Fajardo, Scottie Thompson, Dwight Ramos, Kai Sotto, CJ Perez, Chris Newsome, Calvin Oftana, Jamie Malonzo, Kevin Quiambao, Carl Tamayo, AJ Edu, and naturalized player Justin Brownlee.
