OPPO Continues Top 10 Global IP Ranking for Fifth Straight Year on World Intellectual Property Day
Joining the celebration of World Intellectual Property (IP) Day, OPPO, a globally
recognized technology leader, recently released its "OPPO Innovation and Intellectual
Property White Paper," underscoring its steadfast commitment to innovation and
IP protection.
According to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), OPPO
maintains its position among the top ten globally for patents filed under the
Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) for the fifth consecutive year, securing the
ninth spot in 2023. With over 101,000 patent applications worldwide as of
March 31, 2024, and more than 55,000 patents granted, OPPO's dedication to
innovation remains unwavering, with 91% classified as utility patents.
Feng Ying, OPPO's Chief Intellectual Property Officer, highlights, "At

As of March 31, 2024, OPPO has filed an impressive 5,399
AI-related patents globally, with 3,796 utility patents focusing on AI

Intelligence Patent Ranking" published by IPRdaily on April 22, 2024.

breakthroughs, spanning areas such as 5G/6G, AI, flash charge, and imaging.
Notable achievements include deploying 5G essential standard patents across
over 40 countries and regions globally, filing over 6,100 families of global
patent applications, and submitting more than 11,000 5G standard-related
proposals to the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). Additionally, OPPO
has applied for over 12,306 global imaging-related patents and licensed its
VOOC flash charge technology to over 50 companies, facilitating the widespread
adoption of fast charging capabilities.
