- Budget Option: The standard Acer Super ZX brings solid specs like a 64MP main camera and Dimensity 6300 for just INR 9,999.

When I saw the Acer Super ZX and Super ZX Pro being talked about on international tech websites, I
had to double-check the branding. Yes, that Acer — a brand we’ve mostly
known for laptops — is stepping back into the smartphone game. If you
remember, Acer Smartphones used to be available in the Philippines in 2016 and
2017 but for some reason, the mobile line suddenly disappeared.
Fast forward to 2025, Acer is slated to make a mobile market comeback but
there's a twist: Their new phones are not made by Acer's headquarters in
Taiwan. Instead, they're being produced by Indkal Technologies under
license in India. Looking at press photos, surprisingly, the upcoming phones look way more polished than you'd expect
from a "first comeback attempt."
Let’s break down the new Super ZX duo and why they deserve a spot on your
radar if you’re hunting for a clean, powerful, and reasonably priced
smartphone experience.
Acer Super ZX Pro: Midrange Looks, Premium Feel
The Super ZX Pro is easily the headliner here. With a
6.67-inch AMOLED display, Full HD+ resolution, and a buttery-smooth
120Hz refresh rate, it already outpaces most phones in its price
range. Add up to 1,000 nits brightness and an
in-display fingerprint scanner, and you’re looking at a legit media
consumption machine.
Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chip — a capable
midrange processor known for balancing performance and power efficiency. The
Pro model also gives you a range of storage options, from
6/128GB to 12/512GB, depending on your usage and budget.
Imaging is handled by a 64MP Sony LYT-882 sensor with OIS, flanked by
a 5MP ultrawide lens and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, there’s
a 13MP OmniVision selfie shooter, which should be more than enough
for your daily snaps and video calls.
Keeping it all running is a 5,000mAh battery with
33W fast charging. It runs stock Android 15, which is a rare
treat nowadays. No bloat, no skin, just pure Android. That alone might be a
deciding factor for a lot of tech-savvy users.
Other sweet bonuses include dual speakers with Dolby Atmos,
IP64 splash resistance, and a glass-back finish that’s
surprisingly premium at this price.
Acer Super ZX: Entry-Level but Competitive
Now if you're on a tighter budget, the standard Acer Super ZX still
has a lot going for it. Its 6.7-inch LCD screen supports Full HD+
resolution and 800 nits of brightness, which is decent even under
outdoor lighting.
The Dimensity 6300 chipset inside isn’t a powerhouse but is perfectly
usable for everyday apps, social media, and even casual gaming. Storage
options include 4/64GB, 4/128GB, 6/128GB, 8/128GB, and
8/256GB, which is generous for a budget phone.
The rear cameras are headed by a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor, along with
a 2MP macro and 2MP depth lens. Up front, a
13MP Samsung sensor handles selfies. That’s pretty respectable for an
entry-level model.
Just like the Pro, it packs a 5,000mAh battery with
33W fast charging, dual speakers, and Android 15 out of
the box. Instead of an in-display scanner, this one opts for a
side-mounted fingerprint sensor built into the power button, which is
quick and reliable.
Pricing, Availability, and What It Means for Acer
The pricing is what makes both phones so compelling. The
Acer Super ZX starts at INR 9,999, which is around PHP 6,800 —
a very strong offer for what you get. Meanwhile, the more powerful
Super ZX Pro will start at INR 17,999 or roughly PHP 12,200.
Both models will go on sale in India starting April 25, and while
there’s no confirmation yet on a Philippine launch, Acer fans here will
definitely be watching closely.
This comeback is Acer’s way of showing that it can still be relevant in a
smartphone market dominated by brands like realme, Xiaomi, and Samsung. The
fact that Indkal Technologies is helming the design and distribution
means Acer is banking on local expertise to push its name back into the
conversation.
If these phones perform as well as their specs suggest, Acer might just
carve out a new identity in the mobile space — one built around clean
software, decent hardware, and competitive pricing.
That’s a pretty solid playbook for a comeback.
