MediaTek is pushing the boundaries of mobile AI with the launch of the Dimensity 9400+ SoC, their latest flagship chipset. This new platform promises to deliver exceptional Generative and Agentic AI capabilities, coupled with significant performance enhancements, all while maintaining a power-efficient design.

The Dimensity 9400+ is poised to redefine the mobile experience, offering advanced AI features and superior performance for the next generation of smartphones.

AI Innovations: Powering Personalized Experiences


The Dimensity 9400+ features an All Big Core design, integrating one Arm Cortex-X925 core clocked at up to 3.73GHz, alongside 3x Cortex-X4 and 4x Cortex-A720 cores. This configuration delivers accelerated single and multithreaded performance, ensuring a seamless Android user experience.

Enhanced AI Capabilities: NPU 890 and Agentic AI Engine


Equipped with the MediaTek NPU 890, the Dimensity 9400+ supports a wide array of Large Language Models (LLMs) globally. This chipset features Mixture-of-Experts (MoE), Multi-Head Latent Attention (MLA), Multi-Token Prediction (MTP), and FP8 inferencing, offering faster reasoning speeds. It also provides a 20% boost in agentic AI performance with Speculative Decoding+ (SpD+). The built-in Dimensity Agentic AI Engine (DAE) simplifies the conversion of traditional AI applications into sophisticated agentic AI applications.

The 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU enhances gaming visuals, bringing PC-level features like opacity micromap (OMM) support for realistic effects. This technology renders game elements such as vegetation, hair, and feathers with increased realism and dimension without impacting performance. The chipset also sustains peak gameplay speeds, minimizing lag during extended gaming sessions.

Connectivity and Imaging: Beyond Performance


The Dimensity 9400+ includes a new frame rate converter 2.0+ (MFRC 2.0+), developed in collaboration with game developers, which effectively doubles FPS and improves power efficiency by up to 40% when MFRC is enabled.

The MediaTek Imagiq 1090 allows for HDR video recording across the entire zoom range, enabling users to capture high-quality footage from any distance. MediaTek’s Smooth Zoom technology ensures seamless capture of moving subjects and allows for precise isolation of image and audio within each scene.

Additional features of the Dimensity 9400+ include extending phone-to-phone direct Bluetooth connections to 10km, support for BeiDou satellite connectivity with 33% faster TTFF, Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency with five streams, MediaTek Xtra Range TM 3.0 for up to 30m greater Wi-Fi coverage, and 5G/4G Dual SIM Dual Active, Dual Data capabilities.
